How was it Valuable to the Community?

The Service project that I chose to do was a "park clean up".  I have noticed in my community that many parks and public areas are covered in trash and litter.  My hockey team and I visited a public community park and helped clean it up over this weekend. Not only did this help make the park better looking, but it also helped protect the wildlife.  Protecting the wildlife was the main focus of this project.  It is crazy how many animals die or get sick from eating human food left on tables, and on the floor.  It is also very dangerous people leave trash lying around because it could lead to animals getting stuck in the trash and trapped.  It was very valuable what we did.  Not only did we help save the lives of a good amount of our communities wildlife, but we also started to make a difference.  People may think that just because we cleaned up one park does't mean anything.  But, this is just the opposite.  We made a difference in one park and all of it's animals and wildlife and that's all that matters.  I encourage everyone to clean up after themselves, and if they really want to make a change, organize any type of "clean up".  Remember, cleaning up your trash could save a life!
